Plastic Waste Management
MFA's Marine Plastic Waste Management Program, supported by SEE Turtles, focuses on reducing plastic waste in the ocean through a comprehensive approach. The program includes collecting plastics from homesteads and conducting weekly beach cleanups to prevent waste from reaching marine environments.
Sea Turtle Conservation
The Sea Turtles Conservation initiative focuses on monitoring and protecting sea turtle nesting beaches along Kenya's North Coast. In collaboration with the Kenya Wildlife Service , MFA has established community biodiversity monitoring teams to safeguard critical nesting sites and track turtle activity. By engaging local communities, the program fosters a sense of ownership and responsibility for preserving marine ecosystems.
Mangrove Conservation
MFA’s mangrove conservation program focuses on restoring critical coastal ecosystems through the establishment of mangrove nurseries and monthly planting activities.
